As an adult running club Lakeshore Striders will be affiliated with the Athletics Association of Ireland (AAI) and will also be associated with Blessington Valley which is the junior running club already in existence in Blessington. Only people over the age of 18 will be eligible to join Lakeshore Striders.

Within County Wicklow people representing Lakeshore Striders can do so under the name and colours of the club. However, to promote the development of running and athletics in County Wicklow, the county board have set up what is in effect a senior county club called Sli Cualann Athletic Club. This is basically an umbrella club for all the running clubs in Co. Wicklow. In effect Sli Cualann acts as a funnel, from Wicklow, to all other areas; i.e. if you want to take part in events outside of Wicklow you participate under the name and colours of Sli Cualann. 

A committee has been set up comprising of Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and a number of committee members. People occupying these positions will be elected on an annual basis.  The committee will oversee the development of the running club.
